Red Skaarl

This turned out to be a pretty quick shoot, despite the fact I hadn't totally nailed down the design before I started. I had a couple horn and wig options that I wasn't sure about so we had to run through all that pretty quick.

Tala Sungru

My first real shoot using this new piece (aside from the product shot) and I learned on thing about it, it's best suited for someone with a long face - it still looks really good here, but I think it needs a sort of longer face, thinner chin maybe? I'm not sure, but it does look totally different on this model than the one in the product shot - regardless of the colouring.

Cobalt Skaarl

I realize now that this makeup ended up sort of like another I did a couple years ago, but after 200+ Demons that's bound to happen - the prosthetics were all different at least, just the colours that are sort of the same - but it's interesting just how different it still looks from that other one (which I won't picture, so you'll have to figure it out for yourself).

It's also the first shoot I've done with the new Skaarl prosthetic (using an epoxy mould) and I'm pretty impressed with how well it went on and how seamless it came out without really trying. I normally do a lot of work cleaning up the seams for these shoots (I don't claim to be a great makeup artist, I do this for fun), but I had very little to do with this one. Had I actually taken the time during application this one could've been absolutely perfectly applied.

Dark Forest Faerie.

I don't do too many shoot that have an elaborate backstory, but this one definitely required an explanation.

The idea is that Faeries are more akin to plant based life than animals, not having a central brain but it actually being a whole system that run through their entire body. They don't have vocal cords and communicate through a complex series of non-verbal cues - which makes them seem somewhat bird-like and perhaps even an unintelligent species.

All this lead to a horrific series of experiments wherein Faeries were captured and mutilated to see at what point they could no longer function.

So here we have a series depicting an early victim of those experiments who has had her skull hollowed out to see if Faeries have brains - which it was quickly discovered, they do not.

Demons in Ugly Christmas Sweaters, 2018.

I was unfortunately way too busy this year to do as many of these as I wanted, I had a couple more planned that should have been done earlier, I just couldn't make the time though - however, those will be done for next year.
