I'll make this quick since I do plan on doing a more interesting update in the next few days or so.
Cronus: on hold because of no audio equipment, the video aspect is finally done though.
Bimbo Zombie Killers!: Waiting to find a time to do all the post splatter effects, should be doing the audio in a couple weeks. The audio equipment is different then the stuff being used for Cronus, long story.
All About Monsters: this one is just lying in the background waiting for spare tie to design the creature and line up all the re-enactment shots.
The 3D Movie: most of the props have been sorted out. I should be working on the alien monster masks later today once the supplies arrive. Still have yet to meet with all the cast. Locations are still sort of sketchy, but most are simple enough aside from the lab set.
And the next one, Grayson and Gortch needs a final script, which I'm hoping to rough out pretty soon. I haven't even looked at it in months, it could be done for all I recall. This one won't be shot until late September.
That's it really. Just slowly working away to get this latest project up and running. I think it should work out alright.

Minor Update
Not too much new going on. I'm just finishing up the last FX shot for Cronus and then doing up a final edit and finally onto the relooping sessions with the actors. Then comes the awesome fun or sound editing and the incredibly craptastic music editing. I tried finding some good royalty free stuff, but there's nothing that fits this genre. I'm hoping I can find someone who can whip something up for me - I kinda hate dealing with musicians, some are next to impossible to deal with. When you find a good one, and they are out there, it kind of spoils you since they are the exact opposite of the rest.
I'm also hoping to get a final edit of Bimbo Zombie Killers! minus the blood done soon. I have to get an idea where I want to add in some extra blood and then spend a day getting blood splatter and blood spray shots. That should be fun. I've no idea when I'll get around to the audio for that, it's just a matter of time.
And then finally I've been into pre-production on the 3D movie. It's all cast, aside from the extras. I've got the script broken down to the point where I can start location scouting and prop hunting and costume shopping. I'm hoping to get the supplies to make the latex masks for the Alien Brain Monsters in the next 2 week because I'd really like to start shooting this 2nd week of August of not sooner.
We'll see how things go. The best part of the 3D movie is that there's next to no CG. Anything that can be done like it would've been done in the 50's is how I'm trying to do this. Mind you, there are some things that just can't be done the same way, so I'm forced to do it digitally. But the UFO, will be a crappy thing on a string with some forced perspecitve to make it larger. Same with a couple other effects.
And what little post effects there are, will be done to look as as simple as it would've originally been done, so don't expect a special effects extravagana here. This is going to look like old school crap.
Also, I wanted to mention the response to the Bimbo Zombie Killers! trailer has been pretty good, I've not had many people specifically comment on it, but the trailer on YouTube has gotten quite a few hits and it seems a lot of folks know about it - mainly because of the amount of extras that had been in it. There's been a fair amount of extras in the 3D movie as well, so I'm hoping for a similiar response.

This is stupid
I just deleted a page from the blog, and I can't even really say what page it was because if I write it out I'll just be right back to where I was. Basically it was about a phrase, and it was harmless enough - I just got sick of seeing most of the traffic to the blog were people looking up this phrase. There was actually over 3 or 4 hundred in the last month alone just because of that one phrase - and it has nothing to do with the movie stuff at all.
Not that if changes anything or threatens world peace that someone would search for this phrase, I just got sick of seeing it popping up, so I deleted it. I don't even know why I'm mentioning it now.
I'm done.

Bimbo Zombie Killers! Trailer Online
I did a bit of a rush job on it, but it's up anyway. You should be able to see i to the right on the YouTube video bar thing.
Some pictures from the last shoot .
So here's some pictures from the shoot.
In the end the only things that really buggered up were a patch of rain - at least we were in the woods so it wasn't as bad as it could've been and a stupid $5 lighter that only sort of worked. The newest batch of blood turned out great, Kim and I made another 12 litres the day before and we still had the smaller bottles of the less chunky blood.
I have most of the footage converted now, I'm hoping to get to the trailer tonight still. That's it for now though.

Last Day on Bimbo Zombie Killers! is over.
Just a very quick update. On the good side, we're done and I'm pretty happy with the way things seem like the look, I haven't checked all the footage so I don't know but I'm reasonably sure everything turned out great - even if it didn't, all the better in some cases.
The weather was the same as the other two days of shooting, so the lighting more or less matched fairly well. Most everything we tried worked out well. We even through in something I originally was going to do with CG but thought it'd be funnier to shoot it live - if you were there, you recall the axe. Truly bad looking filmmaking at it's finest.
So it's done. Just some FX shots to do, I hope to get it roughly edited tonight should I work up the energy, at the very least get the trailer for it online at some point. I'm copying all the footage over to the harddrive to convert it, so it's just a matter of time after that.
And of course, a huge thanks to everyone. It was almost like a real crappy 70's movie, the conditions were not awesome, it was kinda cruddy, rained a little bit and the mosquitoes were a pain in the ass by times - we finished it though 15 minutes ahead of schedule, even though we were an hour or so behind. You guys all did a great job, thanks.
More later once I go over all the photos.

Location Relocation.
There's 5 scenes and a couple shots left to shoot on Bimbo Zombie Killers! Had the weather been more agreeable we would've been a little further along and only had 3 scenes left - but that's the way it works. So we have the shoot out in Orwell coming up, I debated doing that then running everyone back into Vic Park to shoot the remaining scenes.
I changed my mind. I figure we can just shoot everything out in Orwell. I was out yesterday to scout the place and to make sure we had permission, I've shot there in the past without it - not knowing it was actually someone's property. This time, because there'd be a lot of people, I decided it would be best if I spoke to the owner and told him what I was doing. He seemed to this it was pretty amusing, so we're all good and we're free to shoot away out there.
That's a huge relief.
Now it's just up to the weather to hold out. The long range forecast is looking pretty much like last Sunday, slightly better though. At least we'll be sort of forested in so we might not get much where we'll be.
Anyway, here's some pictures of where we'll be shooting.

2nd Day on Bimbo Zombie Killers!
Not as successful as Day 1, but still good. I'd planned out last minute yesterday to try and do a little of what we missed yesterday, but schedules just didn't work. We did get the scene that was originally planned done though.
I should have everything that's been shot edited tonight, yesterday's is already done. So far it's looking pretty good. And as usual everyone did a great job, I was a little off today though. Ritchie did a great job as Old Man Wilkins and got himself gnawed on. So, thanks to Ritchie, good job. And of course, Draper and Heather - great as always, thanks guys.
I'm trying to get next Sunday organized now, the forecast looks alright so it should go off okay. It'll just be a longer day then I'd planned on. We'll see how things go.

First day on Bimbo Zombie Killers!
It wasn't an awesome success, but it was pretty damned good. Despite the weather and the threat of rain looming literally over us the whole time, I decided to just go for it. I guess it was a good call, because we did get about 75% of what I intended to get shot today.
We had a dismal turn out for extras, I won't even get into how much of a pain in the ass that sort of thing is. The folks who did show up, did a great job though. I was pretty happy with what we got. Seeing only 10 on the screen and how much it filled it out, my original number of 50 would've been insane to handle. I'm kinda glad it worked out like it did. It's not massively impressive, but it's good and it was fairly easy to deal with.
So onto some pictures.
I spent the later half of this week constantly working on props and blood. I had the major help from Kim and Draper on the last day, otherwise it just would not have been done it time. And man, my place looks like the end of the world, I really need to take a break from shooting stuff so I can just clean all this crap up. I'm still moving from around from Cronus and trying to make myself some room.
It's jug painting time! This took us about 6 hours I think. The three of us worked on painting 18 foam jugs over the course of the evening. Draper took off around 8 or 9 and Kim and I finished up by about 12. They turned out pretty damned good. Thanks guys.
So we've got another shoot tomorrow scheduled and I was able to schedule another somewhat quick shoot after that to do a little of what we missed today. Let's hope that goes well, the weather is supposed to be alright tomorrow apparently.
And we're shooting again on July 12th, I'm hoping that'll be it. I don't want this to turn into a 5-6 day shoot getting only a little done here and there. Things fly by pretty fast so I reckon so long as the girls know their lines (and the did really well today) things should work out good.
And finally, thanks to everyone who showed up. The extras did a great job just being extras.
As usual, my regular actors, Draper and Heather did a great job - sometimes being able to just act like idiots is more fun and easy to do then anything.
Alisha did a great job for her first time out and avoid being gored up because of a dying camera battery - I'll get you next time.
I apologize to Leah for not getting to any of her scenes, soon though, very soon.
And of course to Kim, my official zombie wrangler, you gored them up but good.
Thank guys, it may not be a brilliant movie, but it will be awesomely bad.

Some of the extras. I have to admit, I didn't know many of them,
but still I was grateful they showed up.

Heather's dad even came out to get gored up
and even got a small part played Dallas's pa. Typecast I guess.

Tomorrow is Z-Day
I've been up since 5:30 today putting primer on the last of the moonshine jug copies I made. They're pretty much done, maybe in another hour they'll be all ready to have a proper paint job. They won't be perfect, but they should be reasonably alright.
I'm just getting ready now to do a batch of foam up to make the blown out eyesocket prosthetic. It'll be a little different from the other once in that it'll be dyed red during the mixing process, I've never done it before so it should be interesting. I'm hoping it turns out since I'll have very little time to do another run of foam today.
And then it's onto goring up a couple shirts for Draper, and making about 30 liters of fake blood. I've no idea if I have enough to make that much, but I guess I'll find out eventually today. Seems like a little will go a long way - so long as no more then 50 people show up.
And that should be it. I have to go over my storyboards a few times to make sure they're efficient enough should things go wonky with the weather tomorrow. And then I have to check in with one of my actors to make sure they got themselves a costume.
If tomorrow doesn't work out, I've got a sort of backup plan. We'll start shooting and keep going at the zombie horde footage as much as possible until it starts to rain, if it even does - we could luck out. And if we do get rained out I'm postponing this shoot to July 19th.
Monday, rain or shine really, we'll be shooting the only interior scene of the movie. I'm looking forward to that because it's nice and contained. There's not too much going on, lots of props and only 3 of my main actors. And blood, there will be some of that stuff.
And then on July 12th we'll be heading to Orwell to shoot another single scene, that one should be pretty fun and easy. My 3 lead bimbo characters and a dozen or so zombies in the woods. I'm hoping I can get away with not renting a vehicle - because I can't afford it right now or any time soon, so we'll see how that works out.
Anyway, I'm off to fight rubbery foamed evil.
